What do people think about using dual Z rods (2 on each side) and

What do people think about using dual Z rods (2 on each side) and a horizontal X axis?
It seems to me that this gives the twist/stability of a vertical X axis without sacrificing Z axis height.
Obviously at the cost of extra Z rods…
I’ve not been able to find much information on this, except the MendelMax ZX2, which seems a bit unfinished.

I believe it is better for x- and y-axis like Zortrax M200

Hmm, yes, 4 rods might be hard to align I agree with that.
It might just be better to add some extra length/height to the rods and use a vertical x axis.
It does seem like all modern mendels (taz, mendelmax 2/3+ etc) use a vertical X.
And yes, the horizontal x axis does have the Z rod in the middle, this is the original reprap design?
