What do you think about AstroBox?
Haven’t looked at it, though I am curious as to what makes it a better alternative to OctoPrint.
Are Astrobox and Octoprint usefull for a 3D printer? @John-Paul_Hopman
They aren’t needed, though they can be useful.
Most people start out with a computer connected to their printer, which slices objects and sends the gcode to your printer.
At some point, they move to an LCD screen with an SD slot that allows them to operate their printer without having a computer connected to it.
Octoprint takes the idea of the LCD/SD card one step further by allowing you to slice and print objects from a web interface, without need for a dedicated computer connected to the printer.
I think the ideal scenario for Octoprint is when you have multiple printers, all of which can be controlled via a Raspberry Pi and a USB hub.
Thanks @John-Paul_Hopman !
