What is going on here do you suppose? The file show up properly in laser web but when I cut it seems to change the separation between the letters?

Okay I will check further the travel speed was slow at 9 mm/s.

what controller? I had strange things like this happening when the acceleration was set too high on my smoothie. It was basically missing steps along the x-axis just like that.

Using smoothie also carl

I was definitely seeing similar on vector when I was trying to run my acceleration up at 10000. I dropped it back down to 6000 and it went away. I can’t promise that it’s applicable, but it’s something to look at if you recently made any changes.

Aside from that as mentioned above, check your belts and also listen and watch for any skipping.

Also I’d export the g-code and see if you can see anything strange. Fine the break between letters and see what the coordinates are and see if they line up with where you expect.

What do you have your rapid travel set at?

Also what is the motor current set to in your config file?

Got things working much better. We replaced the drives with Geko drives and able to run a lot more power. Thanks for the help

Replace the smoothie board steppers with geckodrive g201’s. The X and Y axis ideally needed 1.6 & 3.0 amps respectively and now the can that easily. Seems to be faster now and doesn’t lose position. It is night and day difference in ability to move faster.
