what is the benefit of the SilentStepStick motor drivers?

what is the benefit of the SilentStepStick motor drivers? over a pololu A4988 or DRV8825

Price. They are way more expensive so your printer will be worth more.

@Johan_Jakobsson Well no shit, but price isnt his question at all.
a4988 driver are very basic with no features like coolstep.
The dvr8825 are a higher current driver, but tend to be the loudest. but are a good choice for a lower cost.
The trinamic drivers are higher current, high step resolution. plus a bunch of other added functions like coolstep or stealthchop

besides silent and newer technology, i had no idea my steppers can move that fast. (with tmc2100)

Johan, people come here to get help. You should not be rude and assume that they’re an idiot or haven’t googled. I’d rather you not respond at all then respond with a link to lmgtfy. Also, our community rules talk about not using short links. Please don’t.

@Justin_Nesselrotte Short link removed.
TBH, the other answers raise points that anyone who had spent 10 minutes googling about the difference between these 3 drivers would already know and should therefore also be considered rude?
I’m not saying they are rude. They’re trying to be helpful. But the question was so vague it’s hard to know which benefits he is looking for and as such give a good answer.

googled and found a bunch of videos which i cannot gain useful information from. Web pages were mostly shops selling one or the other, hence marketspeak instead of factual unbiased comparison information. I’ve not shopped for printer parts in a while, hence i ask here. high level broad strokes answer was sufficient, thanx to Jordan Bourns.

This video gives the same answers that were given here, and a few more. Also corrects some of the information that were given…

thanx again.

I would recommend the 2130 or 2208 as a stepstick option if using Marlin. Both are excellent. 2208’s have a great torque output and are dead silent. I have been so impressed with them that I now design my boards with only Trinamic drivers!missing/deleted image from Google+

anybody used both tmc2100 and tmc2208? i have the 2100 was wondering if it is worth to change them…
