What is the trick to get the drive gear not to slip on the filament when using a boden system. Airtripper extruder. 2mm ID tubing. I have tried a straight cut drive gear and a MK7 i guess you call it and they worked the same. Tube is about 600mm long. Can’t put much pressure on the bearing or it will slip even worse. It is slipping on the filament not the stepper skipping. I re sized the end of the tubing where it enters so its not crimped. I can push the filament through by hand. I use the exact same MK7 on a direct drive and i can not hold the filament back it has so much pulling power.
Are you having trouble pushing it even before it reaches the hot end? Are you smashing the filament enough to flatten it, thus pressing the sides out to more than 2mm wide?
I looked for that and i doesn’t look flattened. That was my guess also so i made sure the tube was not crimped. I cleaned out the through hole for the filament just to make sure. I barely have any pressure on the bearing at all. If i add more tension to the pulley it will skip more for sure.
Maybe the tube is to long
After this print i will find out the answer to your first question
Modify the direct drive that works for you into a Bowden tube extruder.
Ya i could. The main difference between the to is the boden uses a 608 bearing and the direct drive one uses 625 bearing. I spose that could be the problem.
