what software would you recommend to create schematic diagrams like the one in the picture? Currently I’m doing it in photoshop, but changing a line later on is pain in the ass…

Photoshop nooooooooo…illistrator …adobe also
Forget about layers then. Have all one one doc still can have layers and organisee stuff yet not "forced " to layer system. Vector also which hey better unless you got a 1 Meg hard drive lol

Wow! Photoshop even with layers would be a bear. On the free side of things, one could use Inkscape and keep layers for convenience. Inkscape also does conversion from bitmap to vector, possibly easing the transition from your original piece of artwork.

Inkscape is the direction I’d recommend too. https://inkscape.org/
Any chance you’re a US military veteran @Rene_Jurack ?

eagle pcb editor or altium designer

Check out Fritzing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fritzing it can do “wiring diagrams” and schematics. But may be too basic, if so Altium is a professional Schematic and PCB design tool.

i dont want to do the boards with a pcb designer, i want it like fritzing. I’ll try that first :stuck_out_tongue:

I tried visio from microsoft, and consider it affordable for diagrams of this nature.

Photoshop?! I salute you for taking so much pain!
Go with Fritzing or Eagle Cad… I love Fritzing…

I would definite recommend a vector app. A free app, inkscape will serve you well. Otherwise, you can go for Illustrator, but there are cheaper solutions on windows and OS X. I personally use Graphic by autodesk on th mac, almost as powerful as illustrator and super easy to use.

@Ulf_Stahmer what are you using to do my boards?
Rene, he has been working on doing this type of thing for me.

Eagle

@raykholo , I’m using Inkscape.

I would use Illustrator for doing stuff like this, but Inkscape is the best free option :slight_smile:
