When did Scientific American hire the editor from The Onion?

At first I was going to say that you’re probably overly critical. Then, I read the article. I’m no longer inclined to say that anymore - if only because of the distorted simplification of how it all works – but the author’s concluding point, I think, is a a reasonable one to make (though not everyone here will agree with his conclusion).

Yeah @Joseph_Chiu , I don’t agree with the article, and the ideas and way of thinking that it conveys, but that wasn’t what bothered me about it. Had this appeared in Redbook or GQ it wouldn’t have been offensive, but for SA to be associated with something so simpleminded and frankly, dumb, was depressing.

They’ve had a number of anti-innovation posts lately that just seem out of place in a journal that you’d expect to be a little more interested in forward-thinking.

Well, SA isn’t a journal. It’s a magazine I stopped being impressed with years ago.

Scientific American scare-mongering again?

lol…yeah. fiction… maybe thats Sy American magazine…

Because the most important challenge for any new technology is ensuring it doesn’t disrupt existing businesses…
