When your print bed adhesion is 100% legit.

When your print bed adhesion is 100% legit. Who needs a brim?!

That impressive! I wouldn’t have even attempted this. Lol.

not feasible on my printer - my bed mozes in teh Y axis, so lots of rapid motion to contend with! makes the overall design simpler, but there are definitely times i wish my bed only moved in the Z axis (or not at all)

Yeah mine moves along the Y axis as well. That was a 14 hour print lol

My library is thinking about getting a Prusa ( and asking me for advice).
So just how good is It?
(From your pic… very very good)

Its great man! Been running this thing 24/7 since April and it hasnt skipped a beat

What are you printing?

Right now Thor’s helmet

My MK2 was that awesome for pla until I tried petg and abs, since then my adhesion, even for pla, is terrible.

I print PETG all the time

@Anthony_Webb did you try any of the suggested means to freshen up the surface?

1200 grit sandpaper and 91% ipa is my method of choice

I thought that was thor’s helmet !

@Anthony_Webb Interesting. I print with PETG and ABS pretty regularly and bed adhesion is still good. Perhaps you should clean the bed with acetone and then with IPA?

(When I’m printing PETG I paint a layer of diluted PVA onto the bed first to lower the bed adhesion, and for tricky ABS prints I pour acetone on the bed and then slide an ABS puck around, but both those clean off and leave the bed still sticky for PLA.)

Actually, my bed adhesion did eventually suffer, but that was after something like 800 - 1000 prints – so I’m on my first replacement sheet of PEI.

I had a glitch with my Y axis motor taking too many steps per mm and so calibration failed and caused the nozzle to ran into the bed and scrape the PEI in several places destroying it. Im on my second PEI lol

So stringy lol

Just cleaned mine with Acetone the other day, then 99% iso, and it’s like new again, which is to say, too much adhesion. Felt like that first print, when the pei was brand new again
