Which 3D printer do you think is the best to buy it? Obviously… desktop printers… http://www.3ders.org/pricecompare/3dprinters/

It depends on your budget and the size you anticipate needing to print. At the moment I have two printers, one a Kossel delta that I sourced the parts and built and a M3D that I supported on Kickstarter for $200 and it now is $350. The M3D cost about a quarter of the price of the Kossel, prints about a quarter the volume, quite a bit slower, but the print quality is slightly better, some of which I attribute to the slower speed and the settings I run the M3D. The software is still under development, but I am getting consistent good prints from the M3D. My only complaint is there is no way to save the calibration settings, which were great from the factory. Apparently if you lose power in the middle of a print, you lose the settings. Fortunately I have not lost power during a print, but it is a worry I wish I didn’t have.
PrintrBot products are not up to date. Printrbot Play $399 - all metal. Printrbot Simple $599 - all metal. The simple makers kit (wood) is no longer available.

@Brook_Drumm so yo recommend PrintBot products?
I am Printrbot, so yes. Shameless promotion. But the product and our reputation can speak for themselves.

I acquired a XYZ Davinci version 1.0 and then rooted it with Repetier. They are going for about 400.00ish at the moment. It has an enclosed build chamber, however the company uses a proprietary filament cartridge(reason i rooted it). At the moment I’m using repetier host to print but i have plans to use Solidify 3d once i get a working profile setup.
Solidify 3D kicks this printers ability up a notch when it comes to print quality on a stock firmware. Unfortunately if you try to do anything like a jogging the head it shuts down communication. so far im pretty happy because im able to objects that are pretty close to what i modeled.
You can grab a used on off of ebay for about 300.00 if your lucky. however they are pretty prone to breaking so its not for some one who isn’t ready to fix what ever comes up. especially if you void your warranty and load a new firmware.
