Which is the best large scale 3D printer??

Define large please. Lulzbot Taz 6 is on the larger end of consumer printers at 280 x 280 x 250 mm build volume but BigRep One is 1 cubic meter.

There is also the Kong from 3Bots. It’s a one cubic metre corexy and works with closed loop. Very nice machine but probably out of reach for most people. Costs probably as much as a car.

@Daniel_Stauffer Any idea why they would use 4 ballscrews for the Z axis?

Yes, they call it tiltec and it is supposed to tilt the bed up to a certain degree so they can print supportless overhangs.

@Daniel_Stauffer Interesting but I doubt they’re able to tilt the bed enough to make a big difference. Plus wouldn’t it be better to use 3 screws?

@Warren_Mukii You might want to check out ReliaBuild3D. They have a Big printer with a 12x16 x10" (304 x 406 x 254 mm) build volume with a 14" (355 mm) Z upgrade option. Very affordable to boot at less than 78 cents per cubic inch of build volume for the basic model.

There is a kit option for $200 less than the assembled.

@Daniel_Stauffer I cannot figure out how changing the pitch of the buildplate affects printing overhangs if you still print layer by layer and how it can be sliced to do what you say. I couldn’t find any info on their website about “tiltec”, do you know where I can find more information?

WinSun Decoration Design Engineering from China makes big 3d-printers. Lol.
Great volume/hour ratio. But I’m afraid you’ll have to extend your basement a little.
