Which License is better to make things open ?

There are lots of license like CC, GPL, etc. recently came across this http://www.ohwr.org/licenses

I am planning to post my designs under open license. Not sure which one to choose.

Also learned that a thing cannot be patented or can be nullified if it was

So planning to post them in a blog, with proper license.

Depends also on where you will share your works, Thingiverse, for example, has a list you can choose from (wide selection) but you are limited to that list.

Inventions (solutions to a problem) can be patented, so if your thing is part of the solution then it can be patented, but that is not consistent with open licencing, unless you maybe do a open-non-commercial licence, but you would have to secure the patent before releasing anything to the public.
