Which machine is the best value at the very low end of the 3D printer market?
@Printrbot Simple Maker or metal. I still prefer the maker version for it’s hacking possibilities.
Thank you @Andre_Courchesne1
Printrbot simple, pretty much hands down.
another vote for the simple, preferably in metal
I love these people! And my Simple printers
Brook
Thanks @Matt_Bordoni
Like others have mentioned, Printrbot Simple would be an excellent starting point. After learning to setup and do some basic prints, you can easily start doing some mods to expand the print area and add GT2 belts.
Their Printrbot forum is full of helpful people and tips as well as Brook will go above and beyond to provide assistance where he can.
The new Simple makers kit and assembled version come with gt2 belts and auto level sensor. Great value here.
@Brook_Drumm , kids these days…they’ve never had it so good. Where’s the fun in that…coming with GT2 belts already…pffft
@Tim_Sills talking about belt upgrades, I switch my X mod to this one: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:282735 much more stable I find. I have a plate that is 17" wide now
Only big challenge at that size is levelling. But as soon as I have some spare money in my paypal account I’ll probably get the auto-level probe kit…
Dang that’s huge, I see he had the feet on the printer to keep it from tipping over.
