While searching for 3d printer parts on aliexpress, I stumbled upon this: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/FreeShipping-Long-distance-3D-Printer-J-head-Hotend-for-1-75mm-3-0mm-E3D-Bowden-Extruder/721071_2041826923.html

I have to say, the amount of items they sold took me by surprise, especially after I saw that the feedback was also mostly 5 stars. China ripoffs are definitely catching up.

@Sanjay_Mortimer

note the PTFE tube inside the heat-break.

@Ruwan_Janapriya Good point! Looked over it too quickly.

For the sake of a few dollars get the genuine E3D and support their continuing contributions to the community! Buying cheap knockoffs will just bring you grief and no sympathy .

Looks like a piece of crap knockoff of an E3D extruder. Im finially mounting my E3D V6 on my K8200 tomorrow!

Caveat emptor. And if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I’m totally with @William_Frick on this one. Save yourself a lot of time and hassle and get a genuine E3D. Not only do E3D make excellent products that many of us have shown time and time again to be top quality but they are innovating and progressing our hobby so they deserve our support.

Prices are always tempting, but save yourself time and buy original part.
I am happy with metal Pico hotends.

I agree. Was just surprised that they had such good feedback and the order quantity.

@Shai_Schechter did you look at the reviews? Roughly half of the uniques ones state they haven’t used it yet.

@Tim_Elmore Glanced at it really quickly. Just wanted to point it out to everyone.

I bought 3 of these China wonders and all were not able to work. Terrible heat creep ( from what i can tell ). It would extrude in air but by the time i got ready to print it was plugged. Cool down and it will extrude again then plug again. Never did even get one print.

@Wayne_Friedt did you have a fan blowing on the upper fins of the hot end?

Of course, set up same an original, then i switched to a 40mm fan, then switches to two 40mm fans without a shroud. It must be different kinds of aluminum, i guess.

@Wayne_Friedt I thought so, but I just wanted to make sure. Since you’ve done that, then yeah, it sounds like these things are crap and a complete waste of time.
