While waiting for my build plates to come in, I figured I’d fiddle about with a mirror I had laying about. I ground it down for clearance and started printing my nemesis, The Celtic Skull. When I can print that, I’ll be able to print ANYTHING.
Interestingly, it may not be the printers ability to print a long time, but my ability to recover a failed print that gets me there. The pictures at this point were about 4 failures in before the mirror cracked completely and I halted the print for fear of the finishing line wearing against the build plate.
What’s curious is how a light illuminates the PLA, and how the honeycomb infill acts like a light-pipe. I’m gonna haveta incorporate that into something at some point!
