First long print was 16". Easy. Now swinging for the fences with a 6’ hollow sword I designed for fun. A dodgy few layers a foot in or so but not bad, so I let it continue just to see. Since it’s only one wall thick (.3mm), it’s got the cooling warp but who cares. It’s only 3 hours in and it’s almost 4 feet long. If it prints, I’ll print a little handle too. It’s ridiculous it’s a small-ish desktop printer. I’m getting excited about what else I can print. No yoda heads allowed. Now I’ll have to build a bigger shelf for all my indulgent plastic toys I do have some useful stuff planned, not to worry!
One nice feature: no z wobble. Since there are no acme rods on z, it’s totally flat.
And it removes itself from the heated bed. Killer. Your welcome.
Looking forward to putting it in the bot farm and knocking out continuous Smalls parts. Maybe some Printrbelt parts too;)
Build a new shelf for all your 3d printed toys you say… More like you should 3d print a new shelf in kit form and assemble it then use you new 3d printed shelf for your collection of 3d printed toys
Do you currently fly any models @Brook_Drumm ? My fleet currently has about 20 planes (small to x-large 7’wingspans) and about 8 or 9 helicopters (Trex 450’s and 500’s) I really need to thin down my fleet.
