WIP on two Wilson RepRaps. One for Freeside Atlanta, the hackerspace I am a member of. The other for myself! Just a few more days work and they’ll be in operation.

very nice builds … seems you are goin with a standard 8 mm threaded rod for the Z axis and not trapezoidal?
btw … love the poster in the background … is it an iron maiden “Prisoner” poster or the Number 6 from the TV show ?
Built the Wilson last year too! Watch out for the electronic placement. If you look from the front of the printer, the electronic actually protrude into the build volume which will knock your print out if it ever reach that height

Yeah, we are using regular M8 threaded rod. These 2 bots are actually reclaimed parts from older, inferior RepRap machines. So the rebuild cost for both has been about $50 for two much better printers.
I am actually not 100% sure of the source of the Ninja mural there. It is some of the artwork at Freeside Atlanta.

Thanks for the tip, I was worried about that actually. I am using a RAMBo for the black one and the mount doesn’t protrude into the printing space. I’ll see about finding a different RAMPS mounting plate.
