Please update us when you confirm…@$25 is a big difference!
Yeah, slow boat from China though so it’ll be sometime in January I guess. If they work with the SmartMatrix shields that’ll be a huge win.
god damn man.
how are you doing mandala stuff? is it noise, and then just reflected so that its both vertically and horizontally symmertric?
Basically yes. Noise in a 16x16 array (I just use the half of it), mirrored from one diagonal triangle into the other one. So I have 2 symmetric triangles in the first 16x16. This I copy 3 times while rotating into the other 3 quadrants.
But play with different mandala rules, too.
It is always a chain of mirorring and / or rotating stuff in order to create a point- or line-symmetric something.
It is only limited by the resolution, how much different operations make sense.
The pinout on that aliexpress display doesn’t look compatible. I have a small write up on compatible displays and a picture of the correct pinout at http://docs.pixelmatix.com/SmartMatrix/
You’re taking a chance when buying from aliexpress, and may not get a compatible display or one that matches the picture or description on the listing.
Yeah that is pretty much what I figured @Pixelmatix I’ll probably breadboard my own adapter for now and see what the differences are when they arrive. Functionally equivalent though I expect, just a case of getting pinouts correct and maybe different row/column order.
@Ben_Delarre Hopefully it’s that simple. The pinout makes it look like there is only one RGB channel, and the SmartMatrix Library is designed for displays with two channels. When it comes in, post to the SmartMatrix Users G+ community and I’ll try to help out: http://pixl.mx/SmartMatrixUsers
@Stefan_Petrick Did you ever get this working with audio input?
I see no problem to do so, but I didn´t try it yet. Needs just some levelshifting to make the Teensy communicate with the MSGEQ7. And for sure I will do that in 2015. @John_Burdett
