With all humbleness: This is (at least for me) the best animation I´ve ever created.
What is it? Basically a permanent video crossfade between 2 different mandala animations. If one of them is temporarily unvisible that one gets a new random parameter set. So it appears all very smooth while constantly changing.
I also applied @Mark_Kriegsman s great palette crossfading - everything is permanently recolored by new random palettes.
Maybe for the end of the year you should now put together something like a two-minute “Evolution” video showing the animations you made when you started this year, and ending with the ones you’re making now!
I´m curious, if I will find the time and patience to edit an “Evolution” video this year. And yes, it is tempting.
For now just a longer version of the same animation with a slighly better video quality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Y7GFM0yjoc
You are quite the FastLED Jedi @Stefan_Petrick You make me afraid of obtaining 16x16 matrix! Seem like one can get quite lost in there… Bravo on this latest iteration.
I still enjoy watching it. So the same animation a little bit faster and at the beginning with an additional palette rotation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXC5PCXHPNo (and nice trippy music by Dominik Eulberg)
Keep in mind, that these matrices are all multiplexed. So you need a dedicated library to drive your matrix. For the SmartMatrix there exists such a lib written by @Pixelmatix and it works fine together with FastLED.
These leds are no APA102 or WS2812B ones - so check carefully, what you buy!
Yeah, I believe most of the cheap ones on Aliexpress are 1/16th scanning matrices. So the smartmatrix drivers may well work, but I’m waiting on mine to arrive before I can confirm.
