Work has begun on a competition grade 2wd buggy! Track tested the new parts last night and they were awesome!

Mainly shock tower and front arms. I’ve done several iterations and testing of each, so it’s slow going.

Right now just sketchup. I’m looking into more robust solutions, but most CAD software is still quite expensive!

Have you tried Designspark mechanical yet? It is somekind of gapfiller between traditional CAD Software and Designapplications (very geometric and parametric modeling but no real sketching). It’s free anyway

I actually just picked up Autodesk’s Fusion 360, it seems to be a great fit for me! I used this flowchart to help me choose, http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:232578

Cool. Didn’t know this one yet. The funny fact is, that’s the first occurence of Designspark i have seen in 3d printing context by now. Thought it was some kind of underdog project

Meh, office is coming to Linux next year. I guess that’s something, lol

To be honest, Designspark and one single online game are the only reasons to keep Windows on my machines. Unfortunately you can’t even run designspark with wine. Though FreeCad is a nice approach but thats again a full CAD application instead of a modelling app.

They were doing good. However, I got detoured to develop gear diffs for my Losi 22-4 4wd buggy.

No progress at the moment. I tried to bring another person into the project, but the quality of their work wasn’t quite was I was looking for and have had to scrap what little they started.
