Worked a lot with CNC-mills at work and with Arduino at home, now I want to bring the two interests together. I have a budget of 200-300usd to buy a printer for. What is a good beginner 3d printer?
Thanks

Hi Lars,
im pretty new to 3d printing too, i’ve read much and watched many vids about printers before buying.
After that i bought the Anet A8 (160usd) and also some stuff to make it better and safer (60 usd) + 1kg filament (20usd)
In my eyes, its a good beginner printer, and u also “learn” some stuff when assamble it. U can easy buy better stuff whenever u want/need it and assamble it, same with more stable frame.
I have him two weeks now and im pretty happy about it. My fourth print took 10h and he was running wihout problems.
There are many other cheap Printers that arent bad in ur range.
Youtube have many good vids about 3dPrinters in ur range.
@N_Y_NakiYozora Thanks for the awnser, I will look for more information about the Anet A8. I like the fact that you can replace and upgrade the machine.
Thanks
Well, replace and upgrade works for most of the DIY Printers and others.
Like install better extruder, apply Mosfet to prevent overheating the mainboard( one of the neccessary things for AnetA8 in my eyes, i also use an externel fan to cool mainboard and mosfet), adding a Sensors and so on.
@N_Y_NakiYozora Yes this is perfect, I used to build my own computers from parts back when I was younger. So I think it will be no problem! Is the printer noisy?
Not very noisy… U know these old faxmaschines, it is around this db sometime a bit louder if he is doing fast short travels. My fans are louder i think :), the smell isnt much too, i use it atm im my tv room and watch tv besides, when i go out some minutes and come back u have a decent smell of something like hot plastic but isnt much.
Besides, the friction bearings arent the best, some better will make less noise. My holder for this bearings was slightly not plane and the bearrings couldnt slide good and made bad noise, so i needed to make it plane by myself( thats was the only thing that didnt worked correct from my Anet DIY Box)
Btw, i never leave my printer alone for more than some minutes, i dont trust any machines wich build up much heat… If u read some forums u will see some posts about Anet DIY printers bruned down, not many if u see the difference between how many run without burning, some of these might because of bad wiring or not using a mosfet, but u know there is always a chance shit happens even everything is correct.
Oh cool, I was expecting a lot louder machine acually! Yea I also wouldnt leave the printer alone, I would just imagine the worst to happen!
Thanks for all the good replies M. Wie!
