Wow…the Simple is killing it with the new print head.

What a difference. I was going crazy trying to troubleshoot the jams thinking it was a problem with the extruder motor, too much tension, water absorption in the filament, you name it.

Installed a replacement print head and it’s back to generating near perfect prints.

Are you referring to the new nozzles with the little nib?

I’ve been having similar problems like you and hoped that is the solution!

Just waiting for pb to sort out a little shipping issue

Nextime don’t do the herringbone gears for your extruder (I went through a couple of them but they destroy themselves since neither can move on their axels), rather look for spurgears…

@Tim_Sills How long would you say your print head lasted ?

@Daniel_Porter , yes, I think the nozzle is what you’re talking about as I had to re-adjust the Z height cause it was smaller.
@Andre_Courchesne1 , I’d say it lasted about 5 months before I started having problems.
@Marius_Kruger , thanks for the info and I just found an equivalent spur gear file to try.

Are you talking about the nozzle or the entire UBIS hotend?

@Evan_Nguyen , I replaced the whole Ubis hotend. I saw the other day, after I’d replaced my hotend, the thread from April on the Printrbot forum that looks like you were on talking about similar issues.

Yeah I’ve ditched the Ubis altogether
