Wow…the Simple is killing it with the new print head.
What a difference. I was going crazy trying to troubleshoot the jams thinking it was a problem with the extruder motor, too much tension, water absorption in the filament, you name it.
Installed a replacement print head and it’s back to generating near perfect prints.
Nextime don’t do the herringbone gears for your extruder (I went through a couple of them but they destroy themselves since neither can move on their axels), rather look for spurgears…
@Daniel_Porter , yes, I think the nozzle is what you’re talking about as I had to re-adjust the Z height cause it was smaller. @Andre_Courchesne1 , I’d say it lasted about 5 months before I started having problems. @Marius_Kruger , thanks for the info and I just found an equivalent spur gear file to try.
@Evan_Nguyen , I replaced the whole Ubis hotend. I saw the other day, after I’d replaced my hotend, the thread from April on the Printrbot forum that looks like you were on talking about similar issues.
