Y’all need to print these next.
I can’t believe how much quieter they make my printer…and based on it being in a common area of the house, the less noise the better!

Thank you for not using “dampener!”
@Fred_U but surely they provide more dampering (sorry, it’s a Friday afternoon).
Dampering? Is that like diapering? I’ve not seen that failure of language before.
On topic, what vibration does the spring damp? Is this something to place under the feet of the printer? I’ve seen vibration dampers for stepper motors that are heavy foam material that sits between the motor and the surface on which they are mounted, but there are no mounting holes in these springs.
I like the design, one piece that fits into the other, although I first thought they were identical.
I printed four and placed them on each corner. It damps motor noise as well as any vibration you might have from fans and just general movement.
I could see it having positive effects on your print quality as the vibrations that would normally be translated to the hot end would be reduced.
FWIW, I dropped the cooling back to half speed:
M42 P8 S128
and that took the printer’s noise making down yet another significant notch. Really…this sucker’s damn near silent while running now.
Do your printers have legs? Mine is just sitting on the 20x20x and 20x60s that make the frame. But these look like they expect a square leg to sit in them.
@Paul_Murphy mines is the same as yours. Don’t over think it, they just give the printer something to sit on that lifts it off the surface. If the printer is heavier, print more.
@Mike_Miller
Ah right. I just wasn’t sure how a 20x20 rail would “sit” in the middle there, as the damping loops are higher than the edges. Doesn’t matter I guess?
That’s the thing, if it doesn’t work for your situation, you can remix it til it does. They worked unaltered in my case and the improvement was substantial. (Ill post measurements this morning after the family wakes up. )
