Yay printer is printing :) first print in like 6 months.

Yay printer is printing  first print in like 6 months.

Glad to just listen to the printer working again finally. Seems to be happy after just sitting around for 6 months doing nothing but dust collection and storage.

multi material maybe next, have all the stuff made except the splitter, looks like Ax and Alex have that covered… thanks guys.

Yep.

No worries, I’d go for Alex’s at the moment, as it’s been developed a little further than mine. As a note, it works a lot better with a geared extruder. If you’ve not got a geared extruders, and want a cheap solution, take a look at my Drakon Extruder - https://github.com/AxMod3DPrint/Drakon-Extruder

and it died, Duet Wifi wont connect, not sure why it was working then it wasn’t and the only change was unplugging and plugging in the USB cable to the duet, no other wires touched and it has a case around the board. so sad, just get it going again and the duet wifi wants another few days troubleshooting. I cannot recommend any board ever that relies on 2.5ghz and clear connectivity. cable ethernet is mandatory for me from now on. probably spent several full days of my life on the same issues over and over with this board. totally bummed out, was struggling and trying to get back on my feet, printing was part of that, now i cannot. i am sad I was stupid enough to not see the massive issues with wifi only, but at teh same time I was 5 months into learning 3d printing, and now know better.

thermodynamics and CNC structural stability are enough, adding beta testing for less than adequately thought out control hardware is adding way to much to the mix, makes no sense to beta test hardware and pay to do so while trying to learn a million other things. my huge mistake, all I can offer is the advice to keep it simple whenever possible and never think of wifi as appropriate for something that might need to fill a contract on demand.

Ray Kholodovsky, I am looking at your website, how do I order the ethernet expansion card with the ReMix controller? I am going to order one of those to replace the controller I somehow killed today.

@AlohaMilton does the duet not have USB? Can you not run tethered for a while?

Also, tagging @raykholo

The ethernet board is now a product option you can add to the ReMix board: http://cohesion3d.com/cohesion3d-remix/

the Duet USB is the issue, won’t connect. won’t open a com port to PC. option to erase and go through entire commissioning process again for the millionth time, 3rd time in 4 days given I just did it, did it again when connectivity died, now asked a third forth or 10th time as I seek advice since its the knee jerk response. so every time something goes wrong with a duet its basicly ‘do everything over again’

so sick of this board, it’s made to please a printer tinkerer that wants to endlessly fix the printer but never actually print on it much less actually specialise in design or anything else.

edit: oh jesus H whatever, the board has come back to life halfway, it now shows on com devices but I had to erase the firmware. now I have to go through the entire commissioning process yet again. I just wanted to print a freakin soap dish goddamn it I have no time for this!!! ugh, maybe next week. still going to replace the board so I can hopefully be a designer with a 3d printer not a 3d printer technician, someday…
