Yep, this is happening.

Yep, this is happening. Just have to wait probably a month for it to show up from Shenzhen :frowning:

Planning to make it plug and play so I can move it back and forth between the CNC and the Laser. Now to to wait patiently for TinyG support from #cncweb and rotary support from #laserweb

And since I use ER32 heavily on my lathes, this was absolutely perfect. I’d never seen an ER32 4th axis before and it’s a nice low profile to fit where I need it.

Well you know your laser board will support it.

That made it all that much easier of a decision. Plenty of room on the Cohesion 3D board.

My CNC board will support it too once I re-convert my y-axis to a single stepper. Right now I’m running dual steppers and taking up 2 drivers on the TinyG. Picked up a drive shaft the other day to couple the two sides again. I had it that way back when it was a 500mm machine and never put it back after expanding out to 1M

Cool. I did that (8mm shaft, single Y motor) on my pick n place that I’ve been working on forever.

The 1/4" shaft would have had too much whip. I upped to a 5/16 shaft and will turn down the ends to mate up to the 1/4" pulley bore. I may end up having to put a bearing carrier somewhere in the middle.

5/16 at least. I’m using that for a pnp that has no resistance to movement. You may need to go much larger to prevent “rotational bending”, if you will, in a higher torque CNC application.

Since the machine frame itself is aluminum and the shaft is steel, I’m thinking I may get more give from the frame before a torque twist becomes really noticeable. I never really push the machine on speed or depth of cut because I know it has limitations. The later generations of this machine have been beefed up.

Can you please post a link for this

Ebay - search for ER32 4th axis. Just as a courtesy could you please not bid on this one at $129? I dont’ want to run the price up and they’ll re-list it after the auction closes. There are quite a few other sellers but only one at the $129 price (plus $47 shipping)

No worries there. A bit out of my price range but thanks for letting me know
