Yes! Things keep getting better. After some dark moments, when I almost gave up, this came out. For everyone struggling to get their printer in line, don’t despair, it can be done. Calibration, calibration, calibration. If only I could get my z-height right every time, that would be the next big step.
Millions of calibration cubes later - a circle!
But in all seriousness the hardware can make your life easier/harder. Certain hotend / extruder combos are just easier to work with. Or, more to the point, some are next to impossible to work with.
@Nathan_Ryan Well, I’m using a pretty standard Wades in combination with a E3Dv6, but… before I decided on a complete rebuild because I couldn’t get a reliable Z-movement, I had even better results with my own cold/hotend. I think, that with enough patience, you can get almost anything to work. Almost, not all. Serious design flaws a different category. That’s why God gave us nice round containers.
Agreed. Frustration kills.
I’ve had good luck with E3D/Wades in bowden - but that was the upgrade. What I came from was unusable. Night and day difference on the same delta frame.
Ah, yes bowden. That is a different story. I started out with a bowden setup, but I failed to see the advantage for me, since I have a simple cartesian setup. But the limited experiences I’ve had where gruesome. I never understood why ultimaker uses them. To much trouble.
@Crystal_S_UnStuckInL And builds. Without frustration, there can never be progress, only complacency.
