Z-probe experiments. With the out of the box Kossel Mini setup I kept getting the print head slam into the column on probe reset after G29, ruining the position info. I also noted how close the probe end is to the hot end when reset. I wanted to take the probe right to the edge but without slipping off the top. I found the solution in a small rimmed washer superglued upside down, the hole in the middle still allowing hex head access.

Next came experimenting with pronterface to get the exact x,y,z locations needed to carefully reset the probe. Marlin_main.cpp routine retract_z_probe updated with my start location and z movements and I think I’ve got it perfect.

Tomorrow I’ll clean the mirror, load my new filament and get testing. Time for ZZZZs.
