Zortrax M200 - 3rd party material print job failure.

I tried to print a model on colorFabb PLA Warm Red filament (recommended temperature 190-210 C) using Zortrax M200. I use colorFabb PLA filaments with no issues on my RepRap style printer, but getting job done on Zortrax seems simply not possible.

Hot-end temperature 190 - no extrusion at all, raising temperature to 210 allowed to partially print raft, but after that extrusion stopped and only knocking noise from the extruder could be heard. Further temperature increase to 220 and 230 did not change anything.

Z-suite allows 3rd party materials use in the software settings, but I do not see results in the real print job.

Sounds like a clog.

Once you start hearing knocking you may have already stipped the filament. Retract and reinsert to clean the stripped particles.

After getting bad luck with PLA I changed filament to Zortrax Z-Ultrat and printed with no issues.
I faced almost identical problems and knocking sound coming from the extruder in the past on my second printer. Finally the reason was the hot end slightly too low (too close to printer bed) causing difficulties in filament extrusion. Could it be that the printer raises head too low after printing first raft layer?
One more thing I found is that there is no possibility to print using shell mode when using PLA, while shell is available for all other materials. A bit sad, as I was hoping to print RC plane.

@Zortrax_S.A What is the correct approach/settings to get the PLA print jobs done the right way? Do you plan to allow shell mode for PLA in the future?

Change slicer to something that has more options like Slic3r or Cura or Simplify3d. They all will allow printing hollow objects regardless of martial type .

You can only use Z-Suite software with Zortrax printers.

Haha. Welcome to the closed hardware / source world.
