Can I get some help? My printer has been printing the first layer all wrong.
Using the 32bit mks sbase board based off of smoothie and uses smothieware, and my prints look like this at the first two layers but the layers get more solid as it continues to print the rest. What am I doing wrong? (FIXED)
Seems it has nothing to do with electronics. Either there are some mechanics issues or wrong calibration.
Ok I’ll try that, also just regular printer paper or construction paper?

I’ve found that if I raise the bed enough so that the paper CAN’T get under the nozzle, and then back it off until the paper can JUST GET under the nozzle, my machine is good to go.
allanGEE, yes this is a best way to configure the mechanics. A sheet of paper should move between nozzle and bed with a noticable drag when Z=0
yea when printing the first layer my printer goes to
G0 F2400 X100.089 Y134.710 Z0.300
So should i raise the bed 0.3mm and then do the paper calibration?
Instead of having to stop the print to check things, I just went to tinkercad and designed a couple of small “wafers” I can print and then examine.
When I first started, I’d place each wafer on a piece of paper and write the settings I used next to it so I could visually compare if things were getting better or worse.
I’m leveling my printer with the paper I’ll post the results in 2 hr
@Mindless yea that is a great idea I’ll try that out after my test print.
Thanks for the help
Ok printing and it looks like thismissing/deleted image from Google+
I think the extruder is skipping/ not going enough steps
I’ll edit the firmware and try again

Should I use Elmer’s glue?
K
What bed temp and extruder temp do you recommend?
I think I know the problem, my extruder does not have enough grip on the filament. I’ll try to adjust that because if I force the filament a little it starts printing normally if I let go it under extrudes.
Yea
