Double edit: we have a false alarm… I accidentally switched 2 wires when I was working on it last night. Somehow I managed to swap the wires from my heater to one of the switches. They looked the same on the ends. (Facepalm) I couldn’t tell which was which because the wires are all hidden now. God I feel dumb… I should have cought that. But that does explain why the temp was switching from 0 to max, it just depended on whether or not the switch was open. Now I just gotta re-level the bed and I should be good!
Edit: I’m just going to order a new hot end and replace the whole thing.
Any idea why this is happening? Is the temp sensor bad? If I unplug it, it says 0 and mintemp. Either way I get an error. I’m not quite sure what the issue is.
And now it just says 0 and min temp. If I swap temp sensors with the bed, the 22 switched from one side to the other. Looks like a bad temp sensor. I guess it’s time to order a new one. Lame.
Bad thermocouple possibly
Could be a short in the temp sensor wire
I think I might just order a whole new hot end. Why not? I’m already taking this one off, might as well get something halfway decent. Any recommendations?
Is it a 2, a 3, or a 4-wire sensor?
@Ben_Verdel Just a 2 wire.
This is what I have if it help. There are some specs.
Typically a thermistor short will trigger maxtemp, while a thermistor disconnection will trigger mintemp. Alternating between the two is odd.
Between this and the heatbed wiring failure, if I were you, I would throw this POS deathtrap in the garbage right now and spend a little more money on something that doesn’t actively want to kill you.
@Ryan_Carlyle well the wires failing were technically my fault as I didn’t make sure they were free from being bent. I have since resoldered the wires and implemented a fix. As for the temp sensor, I think I may have broke it myself. I was doing some rewiring and I think I may have messed the wire up because it was working just fine before I screwed with it.
I decided to just build a whole new printer with e3 hot end. Parts on order for a hypercube. You should check I out, has amazing reviews.
@Joseph_Ronie I don’t think I can use an E3 hot end. Unless there is some other style I don’t know about. They don’t look like they would fit my printer.
You would need to print a new X carriage and a Boden assembly which you currently cannot do because you don’t have a working thermistor. You can probably order the parts off the internet. Or if you’re in the Seattle area I can print whatever you need
Actually if you’re in the Seattle area I have an extra thermistor if you want to pick it up
@Joseph_Ronie I appreciate it but I’m in Michigan so I’ll probably just order one. Lol. I think I’m just going to get one of these and call it a day. Basic and cheap.

Many problems are with the nut. Press the sensor short circuit. Loosen the nut a little and check
