Hello all. I need some help with my Titan extruder. The this damn thing… Well …help!

The only advise I can give, I’m a car guy, find your limit, go all the way to the edge of possible, then work your way back. Or foreward?

It looks like its printing, but that bearing noise is very distracting

thats my question. @MidnightVisions you think its a bearing issue? when the noise startd the extruder stops pushing plastic. i’m not sure what part in the aero is causing the issue

Do I see the spring arm vibrating during the clicking noise?

Turn up the heat! So hard to tell from short vid, but I’ve found that platform height and temp settings can cause extruder clicking? That’s the car guy talking? Go big, work your way back? Lol don’t listen to me I burned down a brand new ender4!

It does this clicking with no load on the spring arm and no filament in the extruder.

@kenneth_rooks than it’s a stepper issue, one or all of the motors are fighting to do what you want. You need to adjust your firmware

Hrmmmmm I’m using the wifiduet board. I’m running at 256 steps on x y and z steppers, but on my extruder I’m running at 32 steps. Hrmmmmm .

@kenneth_rooks save your progress, less it’s square one again!

Naw lol, no square 1 here this firmware is pretty good, and the wiring is solid

@kenneth_rooks cool printer btw! Nice job

Domo arigato @DayRider76

@kenneth_rooks Mr roboto! I just started printing my wife’s replacement! Lol can’t help wondering if I’ll program her to kick ass, or do dishes? Time will tell

Raise the head up and use the slicer software a manually move each axis, and filament feed. Find out where the noise is comming from. Do all motors move smoothly and does the filament feed properly?

Nose coming from extruder only. Already replaced the motor once.

@kenneth_rooks reset your z height, extruder skips when it’s to close , your printing so give it 4mm up. If it don’t stick, back down 1 until it looks right!

Have you replaced the bearings in the Titan? Google bearinggate. The aero is a flawed design that allows the gears to disengage and click. I think regular Titan also has this problem, but not sure. I threw my aero in the bin and am using a bondtech bmg. Couldn’t be happier.

@Wes_Cherry I’ll have to email em again. See if I can get a full replacement. I replaceed the bearing and lid once already because of bearingate. sad😥

Them Jokers are just so expensive. Bondtech that is
