From what I’ve heard the e3d hotend is pretty good, it’s all metal and has the same mounting system as the j-head, so you wouldn’t have to worry about it not fitting your current printer.
ok:). i had a prusa but change to air 2. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:74830
now i only have problem with the hot end. rest is working fine it was sooo much better with a static frame
thank every one for the help i have no order the E3D hope it.s workign well! even for me
@Sanjay_Mortimer is a developer of the e3d and a very active contributor to the community. I don’t own one YET, but I’m impressed by what other’s have posted about its performance and the level of support that is provided
I had heard tell that the e3d hot ends needed a little more polish to be used without PTFE inserts. I think @ThantiK and @Whosa_whatsis were discussing this recently. I still love my j-head, but have never tried anything else.
@Tony_Olivo , nah, the E3D hot ends work great without PTFE inserts. It was the QU-BD hot ends that didn’t work so well because of the lack of polish on the inside of the barrel, and other things that just simply weren’t accounted for. Sanjay accounted for all of this in the E3D hot ends and I couldn’t recommend them more. The QU-BD hot ends, on the other hand… I could recommend them, as long as you source the heat-breaks from someone else.
