I'm now a believer in hair spray.

I’m now a believer in hair spray.

Nice. I’m using glue sticks. But I think hair spray may be cheaper.

I hate cleaning up after gluesticks. How is the cleanup with using hairspray?

For PLA, normal glue stick and a few water drops are also working fine.

Cheaper than glue sticks lol  almost nothing is cheaper than glue sticks or hairspray!

I did not have luck with glue sticks. They went on very chunky/stringy. So far I haven’t had to clean up the hairspray. Just keep putting more on. :grinning:

IMO hairspray is too messy unless you brush it on, which makes gluestick the easier choice for me.

I honestly liked abs juice for abs and hairspray for pla, but PEI is just amazing as a bed cover

I’ve been using glue sticks, and just rinsing it off with tap water every 8 or so prints. Works a treat on pla and abs.

After many experiments by the people at the our local forum, most of them began to use a beer. Try to pour a little on the surface of the hotbed and let it dry. It really works.

Glue stick for me, tried hairspray and it was good but the overspray everywhere put me off

Yuri are you serious? The good thing is I always have beer by the printer. Do they use lager, porter, IPA, wheat?

@Brad_Hopper absolutely. I tried to use lager and it was good )

Isopropyl alcohol spray wiped on the surface of painter’s blue tape (3M) works best for me
on PLA without a heated bed

No Wonder people still debate global warming. Hairspray works end of story. a light dusting as the beds heating. Cleanup every 20-30 prints with a blade to scrape it clean if you must. But the statement was Hairspray works he wasn’t asking if you agree. I’m sure if he did have a question to ask it would be the best way to release your print.

I’ve been using PLA on glass at 59c, cleaned with vinegar and a very sligth squashed first layer for years now. Cracked several glass plates because the prints stick so insanely well. Can’t see why you would need anything else, unless you want to avoid the shiny bottom surface of course. But whatever works for you all is a good thing.
ABS juice worked fine for ABS the little I’ve tried it.

@Richard_Horne 's latest blog covers a lot of this AND a new product called 3D EEZ. Worth a look…

To move stuff stuck on the late put the glass plate and print in the frig for 20 minutes it falls off.

Ok, I just cleaned my plate. Hot water was all that was needed, the hairspray came off in large sheets.

Hairspray works great, but I hate the smell when it heats up. Personal preference is diluted white glue (about 4:1 water:glue) spread thinly on the glass. And I’ve learned to remove the glass and put it in the freezer - or just outside in the freezing cold - to remove large prints, after chipping and cracking three plates.
