It seems the reaction time it not working here. Notice section without G0 is much deeper than section with both G1 and G0. What setting would help reduce this?
laser_module_minimum_power is supposed to help. I haven’t tried it.
Makes sense, I beleive I have it a 0
That’s an interesting yet odd phenomena. I have no clue, just posting to keep updated on progress of this
Just think what you can do with fill patterns controlling the levels rather than scan lines with lots of rapid on and offs.
I think scan lines that mix rapid g0 g1 moves are not the way it should be done anyway and certainly not on milling where is can waste a lot of time in z moves to clear the material.
@Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty is that raster or fill paths?
@Todd_Fleming that was raster on LW3. I’ll try LW later today
Hopefully fill paths will spend less time in g0. I’m curious to see how it compares.
Todd, how could it not spend less time? Pen up and down are time sinks in milling so your paths really need to reduce the number and frequency of z moves.
Ariel, I’d be curious to know if the g0 was swapped out for g1 at the same feed rate with ultra low laser power, does it do the same thing? A simple grep of the G-code file could change them for testing.
@Steve_Anken I thought we were talking about laser; what does pen up and down have to do with this?
I was comparing laser to milling, sorry for confusing you.
I guess that has something to do with the lasertube and PSU, that needs some time to stabilize. What feeds did you use?
The S value for the lower regions was all the same, right?
10 mm/s
Hm, not so much. Could you post the Gcode file so I can analyse and try with my diode laser?
You could change the white color in the image to light gray, so these parts should also generate G1 instead of G0.
@cprezzi i need the white part to be perfectly flat and adding grey could mean small scratches at those part and wont work for what i need.
@Todd_Fleming How exactly are you making your files? i cant load colors, etc still
@Todd_Fleming here is the Fill path version. As the line gets smaller then it seems as if the movement is faster thus the power is reduced. O so it seems
Dang. Its g0 moves are tiny, but that still causes trouble.
Colors: I set the Stroke and Fill colors in Inkscape.
@Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty what material is that?
