Kraken Carriage for the Ingentis complete!
excellent! which main board you use?
Wow, is that a render?
Kracken! RELEASE THE PLASTIC!
@Sanjay_Mortimer Release the Kracken !
Seriously though I’m very interested in getting this !
Quad
This looks so good! Can’t wait to see the results.
You sir are AWESOME!!! I was just sitting down to design a carriage for the Kracken and you beat me to it.
Will a fan be mandatory to prevent heat from 4 extruders migrating to the filament above?
@Brett_Giesler @Paolo_Amboni See those black tubes? They are for water
@Eric_Moy Yep, vray on rhino. Took 30 minutes to trace the rays
@Rocky_Shi RUMBA board.
@Tim_Rastall When will you have the STL on youmagine?
@Tim_Rastall What would you say your build volume is with the new Kracken. I want mine to have a full 12" x 12" x 12" so I might need to extend some of the t-slot and smooth rod to achieve this.
@Mike_Smith I’ll put it up once I’ve made sure it fits a Kraken
@Mike_Smith , you need to add the dimensions of the end effector to the build area to get 12"x12"; so if the Kracken is 2 1/2", you’ll need to be 14 1/2" of available movement. (in addition to the extra needed to attach rods to frame, etc)
@Mike_Smith Not far off from that, I think around 280mm a side. Will do the maths later.
Z will need to be extended though as I can only hit around 250mm at present.
@ThantiK that’s what I figured. Just wanted to make sure the ingentis build volume was originally 12 x 12 x 12 with a single hotend.
@Tim_Rastall on an unrelated subject…I’m getting ready to print my parts and I was wondering what orientation you printed your parts in. Should they import in the proper orientation? I am using Kisslicer and the 10mm shaft bearing mount is importing in with the bearing diameter in the vertical position. I would think you would want the bearing diameter horizontal but I’m probably wrong…just want to make sure.
Rumba support 4 extruder?
