Post frequency and content
As this community grows, it seems to become increasingly hard to draw a line between quality posts, post-happy contributors and low-quality clickbait. Heck, i don’t even know where my own posts are seen on that scale!
I’m bringing this up after @The_Hot_End 's account was banned for posting his videos about 3D printing, which, tbh, i probably do more frequently than him, yet my posts stay and his are deleted. I sort of want to figure out the reasons behind that and what the community wants and sees as appropriate when it comes to this sort of content and posts in general.
I’d appreciate everyone’s input in a civilized discussion below!

The reason should be plenty clear: Check out "The Hot End"s posts page.

Then check out yours. Carpet-bombing all of Google Plus means that when I look at your page to determine if you’re a spammer (…in the spam queue no less)…and I see WALLS UPON WALLS of the same shit posted to every fucking community you could stuff it in? No. You’re getting banned.

100% agree with @ThantiK your content is definitely valuable and then there is his entire feed containing nothing but advertising for his “Free Printer Giveaway”. Don’t see anything wrong with a quick post like “hey check out my new vid” and it’s valuable content but his doesn’t seem there to me.

Just my 2 cents as a community member.

If only the owner of the community is able to push their own videos, then it seems very obvious that’s wrong. We should be very careful not to give that impression.

Granted if somebody is posting the same video over and over that’s an issue. But perhaps that’s somewhere we simply just need better communication.

I’ve seen a number of posts that were spam-candidates, but didn’t flag them as such. Often enough, there was a single reference to 3d printing or related statements, but many of them didn’t contribute to the value of this community. There could be quality assignments for the good guys, like Thomas Sanladerer that would compensate for quality, but that’s inane.

On a related note, there was a spam comment in an earlier post today. I found the “report” option in the menu and engaged that for obvious reasons.

In addition to the checking the user account to see a history of similar behavior (as Thantik explained), my biggest frustration is any post without a description. Just 2 sentences about it, that’s all I ask.

@raykholo according to our “internal policies” (not sure if it’s posted) – any post without any text is auto-remove (not ban) unless it was a share of a previous post by the same person (@raykholo sharing a post that was posted by @raykholo in order to cross post it)

What i do or do not do in other groups is irrelevant to this group. Are you the GOOGLE police? My “Free Printer” Is free, how is this an issue? I get nothing out of it - And 1 post. What about all the others you deleted.

Thoms wall is also 100% self promotion yet there is no problem there.

So now we are talking about invisible rules nobodys seen or heard of " “internal policies”

After clicking his g+ page, I’d say the ban is appropriate… It just screams “ban me!”

Fred U. "many of them didn’t contribute to the value of this community. " Im a freaking 3d printer channel - WHo gives YOU the right to like or dislike a video and deem it likable or not by the 300k members.

Re no description - Tom just posts his video description - Thats a 2 second thing to do - I was never once contacted or asked.

It’s all very clear – I was just saying that I wasn’t sure if it was updated yet. And the specific policy mentioned didn’t even apply to the bullshit spammy, garbage channel you keep posting.

So… You can only post if you “help someone” once. Wow.

Every video is helping someone .

Yeah, pretty much - “This just goes to show that you’re not interested in participation, but only how this community can benefit you.”

To have a few haters clicking “report” and you guys to blatantly just go OHhh OK then. Is disturbing.

Well, to have a self-righteous asshole feeling entitled to spam everywhere is pretty disturbing as well. We’ll just agree to disagree.

@Anthony_Martin your videos obviously are aimed at a certain audience. That audience isn’t this one, in my opinion.
I’m glad The Hot End has ended here.
Low quality posts like yours don’t contribute much to this community.
I did not report your videos as spam, but on more than one occasion I played with the thought of doing so.
@Thomas_Sanladerer 's post do contribute, but I don’t think you will see it that way.
