What all do i need to have ready for when my Prusa i3 MK2S

What all do i need to have ready for when my Prusa i3 MK2S comes in next month? I wanna be set up and ready to go because the excitement is killing me lol

Patience. ;)(Other things are in the kit, maybe a bottle of cleaning alcohol for PEI surface, good tweezers and sharp thin modeller’s knife.)

Lol thanx ma

I would like to mention the E3D silicone socks for the hotend, too. They don’t cost much, but seem well worth the asking price.

@Nita_Vesa I guess your milage varies to mine. I had to stop using the sock as it would eventually tangle with the print and then get pulled off. It was never a very satisfying fit, with basically nothing poking though – the edge of the sock was level with the tip of the nozzle, and this is a standard E3D V6 hot end :frowning: Pity, because it stopped the occasional chunk of carbon dropping onto the print job, which was a good thing!

I use E3D V6 silicone sock even on the older type of V6 (with some cut out). On my other MK2 machine with the latest V6 it’s IMHO a must have for new (clean) extruders.

@Mark_Wheadon I guess your sock is either faulty or just not seated properly, the nozzle should stick out just a tad. I tried to share a picture, but Google+ just keeps saying “Something’s wrong, can’t share picture”… groan

@Nita_Vesa Thanks maybe I’ll give it another try when I get my i3 MKIIS as it makes sense to fit it when everything is nice and pristine and new.

I use a piece of wire and twist it around the sock, no more problems.

@Stephanie_A That’s a good tip. I take it that this means you also think the sock’s a worthy addition to have.

I havent the slightest idea what you guys are talking about but it seems worth looking into lol

@Cristian_Martinez Look at http://e3d-online.com/V6-Sock-Kit-3-Pack (it’s an optional upgrade, good to be done on new clean extruders).

What do they do thou?

@Cristian_Martinez Read the link I gave you, it explains it all pretty clearly.

@Nita_Vesa  thanx :slight_smile:

Sorry im like brand new at this so im pretty lost lol

@Cristian_Martinez Welcome aboard :grinning:

@Nita_Vesa and these fit the Prusa i3 MK2?
