What slicer do you use in general?
I thought everyone was using CURA for slicing, but may I am wrong with that. As I thought about writing a plug-in for a slicer I would like to do it for the most used Slicer out there. So I please you to help me find the answer.

Craftware

BotQueue with slic3r or cura depending on of it’s the TAZ 3 or TAZ mini respectively

I don’t own a slicer but the grocery store I go to got a break slicer that I ask to use whenever I buy Italian.

I’ve used cura a few times. And of course for the ancient cupcake that is running on way-outdated software there is still SF.

Makerware

Been using CURA only because Slic3r is squashing my first 5 layers.

Skeinforge

Not surprised by these results at all. (Except for some people still using Skeinforge. Seriously?)
I think Slic3r offers more options for the advanced users, and I think there are more advanced users on G+.

(FYI: The Cura guy here)

@Daid_Braam I’m a little surprised no one users cura with octoprint though. I do like the simplicity that cura offers.

I think in a few months, Cura on octoprint will have an impressive showing.

Depending on the use case.
I usuallay use cura for “normal” print jobs, since I got my settings pretty much dialed in there.

Whenever I need something with lots of supports I use simplify3d.

Haven’t used slic3r for over a year now, might be time to check back in, though, some nice features showing up there.

Awesome  , thanks everyone so far for participating and also for giving hints on why use something for what. I’m a bit surprised that some use different slicer for a diffrent machine. I thought it would may change with the model, or the support thing. Different slicer for different machines make me think again.

Simplify 3D is by far the best slicer software I’ve ever used; Hands down, I’ve been thoroughly impressed and amazed at the astounding quality and speed of Simplify 3D. I know it sounds absurd to pay $150 without ever getting the chance to try the software… But don’t let this scare you off. They don’t offer a demo for a number of reasons I’m sure… But look at it this way: They don’t offer a demo because they are that confident in the abilities of this excellent slicer software. Best $150 I’ve spent on
