You all seem to be very knolageable about 3d printing.

You all seem to be very knolageable about 3d printing. Do you think you could help me with a problem that No one else seems to know about? It has to do with my print having blobs but only on one side, the other sides are great, and my hot end drags through the blobs. Also I can send photos of some of the failed prints, if that would help. I would definitely appreciate your help and expertise.

Thank you.

Removed the other post. What kind of printer is it? It’s possible that if it’s a dual Z driven, one of the Z screws is slipping on the coupler.

That is a good point I will check as soon as I get home. And thank you for deleting it, and for the quick response. It is a reprap prusa i3 full acrylic.

Make sure your z axis and bed are level

@Blaine_Lefebvre is correct. Make sure your Z axis are even, then level the bed again.

I Had a problem with blobs on my Prusa I3 clone (Bowden) from china. The hot pla/abs was leaking through the threaded part of the brass block on the hot end. It would build up, then drop a blob… replaced the extruder with a new $20 from china, problem solved.

I have leveled everything many times to make sure it was all good. But yet the problem still persists.

Okay I’ll check that out Kaine, though I see no build up there, I haven’t specifically watch for leaking. So I’ll give that a shot to. Thank you to everyone. Any other ideas?

@Joshua_Ricketts Did you make sure the left and Right Z axis are exactly even before you started. You need to measure and adjust them before leveling the bed.

Did you tune your motor drivers? That was the issue with my printer blobbing a few months ago.

Question: Do you have a fan blowing on the side without the blobs?

Check your two z rods are level like they said and also see if you have z hop enabled in your slicer

I only have one fan …here hold I’ll take a pic

I do have z hop enabled

@Joseph_Ronie how do I do that other than just using a bubble level because that’s all I have. .and according to that level ( I check very Carefully ) every thing on my printer is good

How do I add a photo
