Yup still hate abs,

Yup still hate abs, 3 hours looked great till it came off and it’s rubbish.

What temp? Looks like your hot end was too cold.

Yup redoing it now hotter also hotter bed

Was 215 /70 will do 225/80

Just print in PETG. In my opinion it’s superior in pretty much every way (except being able to smooth the resulting print with acetone).

Or in my case find a local supplier who has. In fact they’re out of pretty much all their 1,75 filament except some reason for pla in salmon pink.

I print bed temp 90, hot end 240ish

Ok will run it that hot and see.

It’s hard to tell from the pic; but, it looks underextruded as well.

@Matthew_Kelch and except being able to glue pieces together

I always print abs in 260/110 and it works great most of the time

I just avoid ABS. So many other great materials to do the job without headaches.

I’m typically running ABS at 235/100, and using a “poor man’s” heated chamber by leaving the cover on the printer (Rigidbot). Works great.

PETG has almost all the properties of ABS and prints a lot easier. I still feel like everyone prints ABS because everything prints ABS, not because there is a good reason.

@Daid_Braam it’s not true, abs is much easier to post processing: glueing, filing etc. PETG is much stronger but it’s all its advantages

Covering the printer to keep in heat?

100C heated bed wih extra hold hairspray is my preferred glass bed setup. Unfortunately for me, I have been printing with the bed at 90C instead and having some bed separation issues as a result. I hope this helps you.

ABS is also nice for not needing a part cooling fan, if your shitty chinese knockoff printer doesn’t have one. My best result, though, was with Gorilla Wood Glue spread super thin on the glass.

@Tom_L wow…that is the first time I heard of that product being used used for that. Thanks for the post.

I was desperate, and it worked out great. I’ve ordered a whole bunch of parts, I’m upgrading my printer and it’s satisfying the primary purpose I bought it for (teaching me how this all works), it’s just a little frustrating printing so much garbage in the meantime.
